Threads of Light, May-June 2020, Auburn, NY

Making art accessible for the community during the COVID quarantine, Threads of Light was a public art collaboration with the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn NY, Lorne Covington and myself during the Spring and Summer of 2020.

Covington of Noirflux, manipulated projected images through a large public window of my large-scale quilts. He added movement, and transformation. The result was a dynamic, shifting textile of pattern and light best viewed at night on the street.

The exhibition was part of “Light Windows,” a month-long, world-wide exhibition by artists at home and art venues organized by the Center for the Holographic Arts based in New York City. The Center planned “Light Windows” as an exhibition for neighbors, as a thank you to essential workers, and as a tribute to those who we have lost to COVID-19.
